Sammeiso Lewis, 27, of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, United States is accused of stealing Cindy Nelson‘s two French bulldogs at around 10:00 a.m. on December 9, 2022. She was 9 months pregnant at the time.
That morning, Nelson she was walking the dogs on Kraft Avenue in Studio City, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, USA when she was approached by a man. He pulled out a pistol, forcefully stole the two dogs and fled with the dogs in a gray sport utility vehicle.
“A man jumped out of the car with a gun in his hand and held it in front of my face and grabbed my dogs,” Nelson told CBS News. “He was parked and waiting. I’m 9 months pregnant. Who steals dogs from a nine-month pregnant woman?”
The dogs are named Milo and Gizmo. The former is 9 months old while the latter is 8 years old and was recovering from a recent back surgery.
On December 10, 2022, both dogs were returned to Nelson. North Hollywood Robbery detectives were able to identify the suspect as Lewis.
On January 26, 2023, the Gang and Narcotics Division Marshall’s Taskforce of the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Lewis on Glendale, Los Angeles County. He was charged with one count of robbery.
